Question Answered

The red light on my Epson HC3020 projector flashes and does not stay solid or light up once my projector is warmed up. Do I need a new lamp? Asked by micheal z. On Oct 15, 2024

Yes, according to the manual for your Epson HC3020 projector:https://www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_manual_7170.pdf, if your projector's lamp indicator light is flashing red, then you need to replace your lamp to get the indicator light to stay red. But you need to follow a few steps before doing replacing the lamp. Once you replaced the lamp, turn off your projector and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Then wait for the lamp to cool. Next, remove the lamp and check it for cracks. And if the lamp isn’t cracked, then reinstall it, plug your projector into an outlet, and turn the power on. If this doesn’t fix the problem, then you still might need to replace the lamp. You will need the Internal SKU#: MPLL09005 or "Alternative Lamp ID" or lamp part number: V13H010L68.

My projector is flickering and the colours changing a bit. Would that mean the lamp is going? Asked by Davina W. On Feb 06, 2019

The flickering may have something to do with the lamp, but colors changing would be related to other components of the projector; such as the color-wheel.

Question Answered

One half of the picture on my projector screen has a green tinge, how can I fix it? Asked by Ken A. On Nov 16, 2021

There may be a number of factors as to why the projector screen has a green tinge or tint and there are a few ways to solve it. An old VGA cable or bent pins in the cable means one of the projected combined colors, red, green or blue are missing, so replace the cable. Or fix the bent pins by using this trick, empty the lead out of a mechanical pencil, place the hole of the pencil onto the top of pin, and then bend the pins with ease. If your projector is old, you may need to replace the bulb. But if that doesn't solve it, clean the internals of the projector, the DLP/LCD sensor, the mirrors, and the lens. If the green tinge persists, you should try replacing the discolored mirrors or lens. Or replace the faulty processor and/or the sensor. If the picture is still greenish, try putting your projector back to its factory defaults or make the sure the device and the projector are in the same video mode.
